Essence of our Journeys

Co-Creation and Collaboration and the Waters

At The Travelling Temples, every journey is an act of water and co-creation. Water, because we move with the flow of the land rather than forcing an itinerary — the river, the body, and the group all shape what unfolds. Co-creation, because no journey is one person's vision alone; it emerges from the guests, the facilitators, and the living field between them.

The Journey

Cosmic Waters Journey — Nile Temple Experience

Cosmic Waters was a five-day sacred journey along the Nile from Aswan to Luxor, hosted by The Travelling Temples in partnership with Human Garage (Aisha Rodrigue and Jason van Blerk). Around 22 travelers sailed aboard two chartered Dahabeyas, moving through Philae, Kom Ombo, Edfu, Dendera, and Karnak — with private after-hours access at Kom Ombo and the Osirion at Abydos. Each day paired a temple with a somatic focus: fascia release work, sound healing, breathwork, and ceremony, echoing the ancient idea of the Nile as the "backbone of Osiris." The journey opened with a ceremony on the water at Philae and closed with an integration circle at Karnak. Guests described it as less a tour than an initiation — a felt experience of the land rather than an intellectual one.

  • "Egypt didn’t just touch my heart, it opened it. What I experienced in Egypt is almost impossible to put into words. And yet I feel called to try, because this journey changed everything. It was never “just a trip.” It was a remembering. An initiation. A return home. From my heart, I thank Mariam and the entire Travelling Temples team for allowing me to be part of this sacred journey. Egypt is not a place you simply visit — it is a field you feel. The temples, the pyramids, the sacred sites, the people, and the land itself hold ancient wisdom that cannot be accessed through the mind. Here, you close your eyes, you feel, and you receive."

  • "Travelling with The Travelling Temples was unlike any journey I’ve ever experienced. It wasn’t about rushing through places, it was about being held in a field where land, people, and presence could meet naturally. Every detail felt intentional yet spacious, allowing something very personal and very ancient to unfold at the same time. I returned not just inspired, but changed, more rooted, more open, and deeply connected to myself and the land."

  • "What comes to mind when I think about my journey with the Traveling Temples is the feeling we all shared. We were, our bodies were, Temples traveling. Each day, each location, felt like a new opening/portal - to myself, my highest Self, and to this beautiful land. I’ll always remember how each person had their own special connection with a certain temple. Not all the same temple, certainly, but each person was deeply touched at a certain sacred space. I’m grateful for the friends I met. I’m grateful for my deeper connection to my own Soul’s history. There’s a magic to Egypt, and there’s a magic to the Traveling Temples."
